Why it's built this way
Most SMB owners aren't going to adopt QuickBooks, and they shouldn't have to. Google Apps Script was the deliberate choice: adoption mattered more than architecture purity. The client needed to open something that looked like the spreadsheet they already trusted, not learn a new tool.
